Start Date: September (New Academic Year).

Contract Type: Long-term / Permanent opportunities are available.

Hours: Full-time, Term Time Only.

Teaching Personnel is recruiting dedicated and compassionate Support Assistants to work within a range of SEN schools across the Bolton area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated learning activities
  • Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and contribute to positive behaviour management
  • Help pupils develop independence, confidence, and life skills
  • Support personal care needs where required, maintaining dignity and respect
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment at all times
  • Follow safeguarding procedures in line with school and statutory guidance
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Observe, record, and report pupil progress and wellbeing

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working with children or young people – SEN experience preferred but not essential
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for supporting vulnerable learners and improving outcomes
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection

Requirements

  • All applicants must hold the appropriate qualifications and training for the role.
  • All candidates must undertake or have a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and all assistants will receive free child protection and prevent duty training.
  • Full assistance with DBS and safeguarding checks is provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
