An exciting opportunity has arisen for an 8a clinical/counselling psychologist to join the existing clinical health psychology team at Bolton Foundation Trust. The Clinical Health Psychology service has a supportive team working with several specialties within the trust, with well-established links to the North West Clinical Psychology training courses. This post is based within the Heart Failure service and the Young Persons Diabetes Team, providing specialist psychological input across these multidisciplinary settings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention within the Heart Failure service and Young Persons Diabetes service.
- Offer advice and consultation to non-psychological colleagues across heart failure/cardiac care and young persons diabetes care.
- Deliver specialised assessments and interventions in multi-disciplinary settings including wards and medical out-patient clinics.
- Provide training and supervision to members of the multidisciplinary team to improve psychological input.
- Provide specialised assessment and intervention to general health patients from other specialties (e.g., palliative, cancer, gastroenterology) as required.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or soon to be qualified psychologist seeking Band 7–8a preceptorships.
- Experience or interest in clinical health psychology approaches, including ACT, CBT, CFT, and EMDR.
