Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week. Fixed term, 12 months. Position based in the Urology Secretarial Team offices at Royal Bolton Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out clinical typing, coordination of patients’ case notes/test results, appointments, assistance with theatre listings and telephone messages.
- General office duties including email, computer systems and word processing.
- Provide an efficient secretarial service to the Urology and Head and Neck team.
- Provide cross cover for fellow secretaries when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Highly organized medical secretary with prior experience in a similar setting.
- Advanced keyboard skills and high standard of word processing skills to RSA III or equivalent level qualification/experience.
- GCSE English Language and Maths grade C or above.
- Previous medical secretarial experience, knowledge of medical terminology and audio typing.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- Ability to integrate well with the existing team and a genuine desire to provide quality service to all patients.
- Knowledge of the NHS is desirable.
Assessment:
Interviewees may be asked to complete a typing test.
