Behaviour Intervention Support Assistant

Location: Bolton

Start: September 2026 | Hours: Full-time | Agency: Teaching Personnel

Do you have a passion for supporting young people who need it most? We are recruiting a Behaviour Intervention Support Assistant to join a specialist setting in Bolton, supporting students aged 11‑16 (KS3‑KS4) with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and additional learning barriers.

About the Role

This is a full‑time role starting in September, working in a structured, supportive provision with small class sizes and a strong focus on pastoral care. You'll play a key role in helping students re‑engage with education, develop positive behaviours, and build confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group behavioural support
  • Support students with emotional regulation and engagement
  • Follow and implement behaviour support plans
  • Build positive, trusting relationships
  • Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff

  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour
  • Resilient, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Background in education, youth work, care, or similar (desirable)
