We are seeking to appoint a Breast Radiology Specialist Grade doctor to join our Radiology Team at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. The role is based at the Royal Bolton Hospital and involves providing clinical care in screening assessment clinics and symptomatic new patient clinics.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical care, meeting service delivery and improvement requirements.
- Attend and present in Breast multidisciplinary meetings.
- Participate in screening film reading, breast ultrasound, breast MRI and CT work.
- Support training of junior Specialty trainees, mammographers and other staff.
- Contribute to Clinical Governance, audit programmes and quality improvement.
- Participate in a 7‑day working rota (1 in 16), covering evening and weekend duties.
- Carry out breast imaging interventions, including 7G VAE and the implementation of Contrast Enhanced Mammography.
Qualifications
- Basic medical qualification – MBChB/MBBS or equivalent, full registration with the General Medical Council.
- Obtained FRCR Part I and preparing for Part II.
- Specialist Grade capability to work autonomously to defined competencies.
- Experience in breast imaging preferred (screening, ultrasound, MRI and interventional procedures).
Contract & Remuneration
Full‑time permanent contract including 2 Programmed Activities (PAs) for Supporting Professional Activities and 1 PA for 7‑day working. Flexibility within a 7‑day service is required. Salary will be commensurate with NHS banding.
