As a Chef, you’ll play a key role in delivering excellent food and service across a variety of catering outlets on campus. From preparing fresh meals at scale to supporting events, no two days will be the same. Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking high‑quality meals to a consistently high standard
- Working with both batch and bulk cooking to meet demand and budgets
- Supporting daily kitchen operations, ensuring food hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained at all times
- Assisting with stock control, deliveries, and kitchen organisation
- Working collaboratively across teams to deliver excellent customer service
- Supporting the Catering Manager and stepping up when required
Qualifications
- At least 2 years’ experience in a professional catering environment (non‑fast food)
- NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
- A genuine passion for fresh, high‑quality food
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends for events such as Graduation
