GMMH are developing services in line with the organisational objectives to ensure that care is delivered in a trauma-informed manner and close to home. We have an exciting opportunity that is part of this development journey for our inpatient services.

Responsibilities

  • As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to individuals experiencing acute mental health crisis.
  • You will provide specialist psychological and relational interventions, support trauma-informed care approaches, and contribute to the development of staff expertise in working with Complex Emotional and Relational Needs (CERN).

  • Support inpatient teams in delivering trauma-informed, psychologically informed care.
  • Offer clinical supervision, consultation, and training to enhance staff skills and resilience.
  • Lead on service development initiatives, ensuring best practices in relational and emotional needs care.
  • Work collaboratively with MDTs, urgent care and community teams, as well as external agencies to facilitate safe and effective transitions of care.
  • Contribute to risk management, crisis intervention, and de-escalation strategies.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions and relevant clinical pathways to an identified caseload of people who present with complex emotional and relational needs, in line with the evidence base and best practice.
  • Demonstrate the application of specialist skills and knowledge in order to maintain professional competence and fitness to practice as a Senior Practitioner.
  • Undertake and record comprehensive risk assessments, devise and implement risk assessment plans for service users at risk of vulnerability, self-harm, self-neglect, or risk of physical, sexual, emotional harm to others.
  • Develop psychologically informed formulations of complex difficulties to inform the MDT’s treatment and management.
  • Provide direct evidence-based therapeutic interventions as appropriate based on the recovery model, the personalisation agenda, and a trauma-informed perspective.
  • Develop and support the skills of other team members by providing specialised and structured clinical supervision, consultation, and opportunities for co-working.

  • Pay Enhancements: Band Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any weekday after 8pm and before 6am.
  • All time on Sundays and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight).
