About this job:

Our client is looking for full time experienced trade plate drivers, on a contracted self‑employed basis. Immediate starts available for the right candidate. As a trade plate/vehicle movement driver you will collect and deliver new and used vehicles all over the UK in a timely and professional manner. In between these vehicle movements, you will be using public transport to get to your next vehicle collection.

When you attend the site where you are collecting your vehicle from, you will use an App to accurately appraise each vehicle before departing, noting any existing damage on our customers’ App. Once completed you will get sign‑off from customer before setting off to deliver the vehicle to its final destination.

You must be of smart appearance, be disciplined, reliable, organised and possess excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with customers and throughout your working day with office support staff. Your strong communication skills will be needed to deal with the variety of customers you encounter and the office team to ensure any queries, problems or delays are reported and resolved in a timely manner.

You also need to be an early riser as our customers’ vehicles need to be delivered to various locations in mainland UK and these vehicles must be delivered by 9 am or earlier if that location allows. If you aren’t keen on early starts this role probably isn’t for you.

Requirements:

  • Hold a full UK licence for over 3 years, with no more than 6 active penalty points and does not include the following active penalty codes: DD, DG, IN, MS or TT.
  • You must also not have been disqualified from driving in the past 5 years.
  • Be aged 30 for insurance purposes.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK.
  • The last vehicle you collect in your working day (carry‑over) is taken home to deliver early the next working day, so having official off‑road parking (driveway or official off‑road parking area) at your home address is required and is mandatory.
  • Your official parking area also needs to be large enough for a large van as you will sometimes take a van home as your carry‑over.
  • Being tech‑savvy and having a knowledge of using mobile apps is essential to assist in daily success of completing your daily workload accurately and efficiently.

This is a Monday to Friday role with often early starts before 6 am and sometimes late finishes if you have encountered delays outside your control. Insured trade plates and fuel card are provided. Full office support is provided during office hours along with out‑of‑hours emergency support.

Job type: Full‑time Monday.

Expenses: Public transport expenses are reimbursed in full.

Work location: On the road.
