Carbon60 is currently seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager.

PAY RATE: £25 - £29 per hour PAYE (£50,000 - £58,000 per annum equivalent)

CONTRACT TYPE: 3 Months (Potential for Extension)

LOCATION: Birmingham

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage building fabric maintenance teams and trade‑specific managers across the QEH contract estate.
  • Deliver building, fabric and civil maintenance services in line with contractual KPIs and SLAs.
  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, testing and breakdown repairs.
  • Manage site performance using CAFM systems and digital management tools.
  • Lead and supervise teams, conduct appraisals, manage leave requests and staff performance.
  • Manage specialist contractors and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Support key stakeholders, clients, and operational partners across the healthcare estate as required.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, HTMs, Health & Safety legislation and Company procedures.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, Management Safety Visits and compliance checks.
  • Act as first‑line response to incidents and emergency situations across the estate.
  • Produce operational reports, recommendations and management updates.
  • Support out‑of‑hours on‑call requirements when required.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations, FM legislation and industry guidance.
  • Experience managing multi‑disciplinary maintenance teams.
  • Previous management experience within a critical maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of complex building services and environments.
  • City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in Building/Fabric Services or related discipline.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
