Role Overview: Support Worker at our residential service in Edgbaston, Birmingham. The service houses five individuals with deafblindness and/or sensory impairments. The role involves supporting the individuals' personal care and enabling them to participate in everyday activities and special interests, helping them live an active and independent life.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and assistance to residents.
  • Help residents participate in activities and special interests that support their health and wellbeing.
  • Transport residents to outside activities, requiring a full manual UK driving licence and willingness to drive.
  • Work 7 days a week, including some weekends, across shift start times of 7:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 2:30 p.m.

Qualifications:

  • Full manual UK driving licence and willingness to drive.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals; all offers subject to an enhanced DBS check where appropriate.
  • Empathy and interpersonal skills for working with people with complex disabilities.

Working Hours & Pay:

Hourly rate of £12.50, with enhanced rates for nights, overtime and annual pay reviews/rises.
