About the Role
RecruitED People are currently recruiting passionate and skilled Speech and Language Therapists to support children and young people across SEN schools, specialist provisions and mainstream educational settings throughout Birmingham and the West Midlands. This role involves supporting students with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), helping them to develop confidence, communication skills and independence both inside and outside of the classroom environment. You will work collaboratively with education staff, parents and external professionals to deliver targeted interventions and personalised support strategies that positively impact student progress and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing students with speech, language and communication needs
- Delivering targeted speech and language interventions
- Developing individual communication strategies and support plans
- Supporting students with ASD, SEMH and additional learning needs
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
- Providing advice and guidance to school staff and parents
- Supporting students with social communication and emotional regulation
- Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records and reports
- Promoting safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing at all times
Requirements
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent qualification
- HCPC registration essential
- Experience working with children or young people preferred
- Knowledge of SEN, ASD and communication difficulties desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
