Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored learning support for pupils with complex SEND needs
- Implement communication-focused and multisensory teaching strategies
- Use visual support systems including visual timetables, symbols, Makaton, and communication boards
- Support pupils using approaches such as SCERTS, Intensive Interaction, AAC, and Attention Autism
- Create structured and engaging learning experiences that promote communication and emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with support staff and contribute to EHCP outcomes
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential
- Strong understanding of communication and language development
- Experience working with pupils with complex SEND needs within a primary setting
- Knowledge of strategies including Zones of Regulation, Colourful Semantics, Sensory Circuits, and AAC approaches
- Ability to deliver calm, structured, and adaptive teaching practices
- Experience using multisensory and active learning approaches preferred
