Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full time (40 hours per week Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm)

Location: Penny Tree School, Birmingham, B30 3ES

The role involves teaching Science to pupils with SEN, delivering personalised lessons, creating a supportive learning environment, and supporting their holistic development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Science lessons up to GCSE level.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupils’ progress, achievement and outcomes.
  • Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Plans and personalised learning programmes.
  • Lead and contribute to the development of Science across the school.
  • Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, tutors and families.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities.
  • Support pupils in developing confidence, independence and emotional resilience.

  • Experience or genuine passion for working with students with SEN.
  • Creativity, patience and adaptability in lesson planning and delivery.
