The role involves teaching Science to pupils with SEN, delivering personalised lessons, creating a supportive learning environment, and supporting their holistic development.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Science lessons up to GCSE level.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
- Monitor, assess, and report on pupils’ progress, achievement and outcomes.
- Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Plans and personalised learning programmes.
- Lead and contribute to the development of Science across the school.
- Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, tutors and families.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities.
- Support pupils in developing confidence, independence and emotional resilience.
- QTS/QTLS with strong subject knowledge in Science.
- Experience or genuine passion for working with students with SEN.
- Creativity, patience and adaptability in lesson planning and delivery.
- Clear communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Understanding of safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour support.
