Special Needs School Receptionist/Administrator Based in Handsworth, Birmingham £14.56ph TO START IN SEPTEMBER 2026.
This is a long-term School Receptionist role within a Special Needs School for complex disabilities in North Central Birmingham.
The role is 8am - 4pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist parents, visitors and pupils on arrival.
- Answer, transfer and screen telephone calls and take messages as required.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and visitor sign-in checks are completed.
- Maintain a proactive and flexible approach in a busy reception environment.
- Support a high-volume reception with appropriate safeguarding and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills and telephone manner; ability to work under pressure.
- Understanding of Child Protection and Saf safeguarding considerations when working on a school reception.
- Recent experience working as a school receptionist with satisfactory references.
- Enhanced DBS check (as required for school staff).
