Responsibilities of the Practice Manager include:

  • Keeping abreast of current affairs and identifying potential threats and opportunities.
  • Developing with the partnership and leading on the practice strategy.
  • Formulating objectives and researching and developing ideas for future practice development.
  • Developing a practice business plan to ensure the business meets its aims and objectives.
  • Ensuring the plan is implemented and managing any change required.
  • Providing leadership and management to enable the Practice to meet its agreed aims and objectives.
  • Monitoring and evaluating performance of the practice team against objectives; identifying areas for and managing change needed.
  • Developing and maintaining effective communication both within the practice and with relevant outside agencies.
  • Working collaboratively with the whole practice team to ensure the efficient running of the Practice.
  • Working professionally and flexibly with a practical approach, which is essential in the NHS current climate of change.
  • Ensuring that all statutory requirements are met.
  • Representing and leading the practice forward, and maintaining good working relationships with all relevant outside agencies and professional bodies.
  • Leading the practice to ensure that efficiencies are maximised across the business.
  • Working with an established network of practices looking to further progress with the Primary Care Network DES.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary for the running of the business.
