An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced and confident Night Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving, progressive 24‑hour small animal hospital in the West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon seeking a rewarding out‑of‑hours (OOH) veterinary role within a well‑equipped, independent practice that genuinely values clinical excellence, professional development, and work‑life balance. This permanent position offers a highly attractive Monday to Thursday night rota, providing an enviable three‑day weekend every week.

This independent, two‑branch veterinary practice offers a varied and stimulating caseload in a busy 24/7 veterinary hospital, making it ideal for an experienced small animal Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for emergency and critical care.

Responsibilities

  • Work a Monday to Thursday night rota (8:00pm - 8:00am shifts) as sole‑charge Night Veterinary Surgeon
  • Manage a diverse clinical workload, including emergency and critical care cases, first opinion consultations, emergency surgical procedures, small furry medicine, advanced orthopaedic procedures and inpatient/overnight case management
  • Work with an experienced Night RVN for full overnight support
  • Contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment with 6 veterinary surgeons, 4 RVNs and 5 Student Veterinary Nurses
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and specialist certificates (dentistry, cardiology, schedule 3 procedures, ECC nursing)
