This progressive, first‑opinion 24‑hour veterinary hospital is seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse to become part of its experienced and supportive out‑of‑hours team.

The successful Night RVN will join a busy and well‑equipped small animal practice offering a broad range of services, from routine neutering and dental procedures to more advanced BOAS surgeries, orthopaedic operations, and emergency veterinary care. Both branches are equipped with modern veterinary technology, and the team is passionate about embracing the latest clinical advancements to ensure the highest standards of patient care. The successful candidate will become part of a close‑knit team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 RVNs/SVNs, and 2 Kennel Assistants, all committed to delivering outstanding care to patients and clients alike.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Night RVN looking to thrive in an out‑of‑hours veterinary role within a supportive and progressive practice. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Admitting and discharging patients
  • Delivering high standards of inpatient and overnight nursing care
  • Providing preventative healthcare advice to clients
  • Ensuring clinical protocols and patient care standards are maintained
  • Managing stock control and maintaining clinical organisation
  • Supporting veterinary surgeons and the wider nursing team during OOH cases
  • Delivering compassionate care in emergency and critical care situations

The Ideal Candidate

The practice is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS Registered) with excellent communication and organisational skills. The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
  • Demonstrate a passion for exceptional patient and client care
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative veterinary team
  • Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Thrive in a fast‑paced veterinary hospital environment

The Rota: 7 nights on / 7 nights off, Out‑of‑hours (OOH) role, 8:00pm - 8:00am shift pattern.
