Job: Maintenance Technician
Location: Yugo Crown Place, Central Birmingham
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
Salary: £28,840 per annum
Job Overview
We are looking for a new team member to join us at our state‑of‑the‑art Student Accommodation in the heart of Birmingham. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping the space in great condition inside and out, maintaining the general upkeep of the residence including all communal areas, performing repairs, maintenance and minor redecoration as and when needed.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for ensuring that the community is exceptionally well‑maintained, well‑presented, and functional always.
- Ensure students are safe and secure at all times.
- Complete both planned and reactive maintenance tasks in line with any service level agreements; carry out first line maintenance and assist specialist contractors when required.
- Ensure communal areas are cleaned regularly.
- Ensure that the bin stores are tidy and bins are rotated regularly.
- Carry out periodic health and safety checks, including those relating to fire safety and risk assessments, and legionella testing.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
Manage your health and safety responsibilities as set out in Section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, taking care of yourself and those around you and cooperating with your employer on health and safety matters.
Qualifications
You will need some experience ideally within maintenance, security or facilities with a proactive approach to solving problems. A relevant trade would give you an edge but is not essential.
