Location: Midlands Region

Requirements

  • Own van or similar vehicle and Full UK driving licence with business cover and motor insurance
  • Own tools
  • Very good/fluent verbal English and basic written English
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Basic numeracy and literacy
  • Basic IT skills (use of email, internet)
  • Ability to organise and plan a job
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Use of own initiative
  • Basic Health & Safety knowledge
  • Basic First Aid knowledge
  • Previous experience within the property maintenance sector

Responsibilities

  • Undertake general decorating, tiling, basic electrics (wiring sockets, etc.) and basic plumbing (tap changes, etc.)
  • Perform basic carpentry tasks, including hanging doors, fitting locks, fixing bath panels
  • Carry out landscaping, fencing and property/garden clearance work
  • Assist with general bathroom and kitchen installation
  • Act as a competent person as directed and appointed
  • Work within a team to maintain Midland Mencap properties and the organisation’s residential properties in the Birmingham area
