Are you an experienced Protection & Control Systems Engineer with a passion for delivering innovative solutions in the Transmission & Distribution sector? My client are looking for a technical leader to join their growing team of experts. As a Lead Engineer, you'll take ownership of the design and implementation of Protection Systems across high-impact energy infrastructure projects throughout the UK. You'll work closely with clients and internal teams, ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and performance.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the technical delivery of Protection & Control systems across key projects
  • Design and review SLDs, schematics, layouts, and system architecture
  • Chair design workshops and engage stakeholders to align on compliant solutions
  • Conduct site visits and support installation, commissioning, and testing activities
  • Produce and review essential technical documentation (FDS, design specs, compliance reports)
  • Support sales, tenders, and project management with expert technical input
  • Ensure successful delivery within time, budget, and quality targets

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in Protection & Control engineering within T&D systems
  • Strong understanding of UK standards, client requirements, and key technologies
  • Hands‑on knowledge of IEC61850, substation protocols, and cybersecurity considerations
  • Experience with leading vendor technologies

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
