Your new company You will be joining a well-established SME multidisciplinary consultancy with several offices across the UK and a growing presence in the Midlands.
The business delivers a wide range of building services and multidisciplinary engineering projects across both public and private sectors and has developed a strong reputation for technical quality, collaboration, and long‑term client relationships.
The Birmingham office already has an experienced team and a healthy pipeline of secured work.
The company is now looking to appoint a Building Services Director to lead, strengthen, and grow this important regional base, with full support from the wider leadership team.
This role offers a rare opportunity to take ownership of an established office and shape its next phase of growth within a supportive and well‑respected consultancy.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a senior technical lead on Building Services / MEP projects
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Support business development and winning new work
- Lead and mentor engineers within the Birmingham team
- Manage project delivery, team performance, and commercial outcomes
- Support the strategic growth of the regional office
There is also scope for expanding commercial sector work depending on your experience and client network.
Qualifications and experience needed
- Background as an Associate Director, Technical Director, or similar senior role within a Building Services / MEP consultancy
- Strong technical expertise in MEP design and project delivery
- Experience leading teams and developing engineers
- Ability to build client relationships and support business development
- Strong commercial awareness and leadership capability
- Ambition to lead and grow a regional office within a supportive SME environment
