Your new company is a leading national firm seeking to further grow their business tax team in the Midlands with opportunities available to work with international clients at Assistant Manager level. This role will offer real scope to develop, progress your experience and undertake a mix of reviewing tax compliance work and varied corporate tax advisory projects.
Your new role involves working within a high-quality team, managing a client portfolio and liaising with the compliance team to ensure computations are completed to deadlines. You will be working on a broad range of projects, researching pertinent areas of tax and drafting reports for review by senior members of the team. You will develop strong relationships with your clients and will be directly involved in liaising with them to solve their tax problems. Clients will vary in size from smaller, fast-growing businesses up to large multinationals, and projects will include a variety of tax matters associated with having international interests, whether that be UK clients with European or Global operations or an overseas parent company with UK concerns. This could mean advising on aspects such as due diligence, structuring, pillar 2 work, UK hybrid rules, etc.
What you’ll need to succeed: You will hold relevant accountancy qualifications (ATT/ CTA/ ACA/ ACCA), and will have prior experience working in Corporate Tax in the UK within an accountancy firm. You will be keen to progress your career in tax with a specific interest in working with international corporate tax. It is not essential to possess prior international tax experience, provided solid UK corporate tax can be demonstrated. You’ll enjoy project-based work and will have enthusiasm for developing great client relationships and enhancing your technical ability.
What you’ll get in return: This is an exceptional opportunity to further your career within a firm that has great clients, a strong senior team to learn from who strongly support their staff and place strong importance on looking after the members of the team and ensuring a good work-life balance is achievable. Additionally, you will have scope to gain exposure to a real breadth of tax advisory work which will support your future progression. Typical clients for this team have small in-house tax teams, which means your advice and support is vital, and you’ll build close working relationships. Hybrid and flexible working is in operation, and you can be based either in the West or East Midlands.
