Our client is looking for a commercially minded Category-Account Manager to take ownership of a dynamic portfolio of food products and play a key role in driving growth across our business. This is an office-based position where you’ll work closely with internal teams and customers to shape category strategy, identify opportunities, and bring new products to market.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing the marketing and sales performance of a portfolio that evolves in line with supply windows and new product development. Working with your line manager, you’ll ensure agreed category objectives are delivered while helping to grow market share and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing the marketing and sales strategy for your product categories
  • Monitoring market, category and consumer trends using data from a range of sources, including demographic and market insights
  • Developing and delivering category strategies based on data-led insights
  • Leading regular category reviews with customers, analysing market, consumer and food trends and translating these into clear recommendations around:
    • New Product Development (NPD)
    • Promotions and merchandising
    • Packaging and range optimisation
  • Playing an active role in New Product Development, identifying opportunities in existing and new markets and following the NPD process from concept through to launch
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Development, Marketing, Technical and Production to deliver successful category outcomes
  • Ensuring delivery of sales targets and Gross Trade Profit for your categories
  • Developing existing customer relationships and winning new business to increase market share
  • Agreeing qualitative and quantitative category objectives with your line manager
  • Supporting other categories and departments when required
