This position is a Band 5 Physiotherapist within the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy Service. You will be responsible for managing your own patient caseload, supervising students where required, and contributing to service development and audit activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver core MSK physiotherapy, orthopaedic triage and pain management to patients referred by GPs, ACPs, allied health professionals, and self-referrals.
- Manage patient assessments and treatment plans in an outpatient setting across up to two clinic sites per week.
- Supervise physiotherapy students and support their learning development.
- Initiate and lead service development initiatives, including clinical audits and quality improvement projects.
- Participate in professional development activities, including IST programmes, clinical interest groups, and CPD sessions.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants must hold the full qualification of a Physiotherapist and have:
- Evidence of prior experience in an outpatient musculoskeletal physiotherapy environment.
- Desirable NHS experience.
- Up-to-date knowledge and CPD evidence in MSK physiotherapy.
- Ability to contribute to IST programmes and clinical interest groups.
Additional information
You will receive a designated mentor and monthly professional meetings with clinicians across Band 3-8b, providing opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and career development. CPD time and course funding may be available subject to service requirements. You will also have access to Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Consultant Physiotherapists, and the service actively participates in research trials.
