We are looking for an Assistant Design Manager to support the delivery of major highways, public realm and structures projects across the Midlands and the North. Whether you are based in Manchester, Newcastle, Wolverhampton or Leicester, this role offers the chance to work on high-profile infrastructure schemes while developing your design management capability within a supportive, growing team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinating design activities across multiple live infrastructure projects
- Reviewing and interpreting drawings, spotting risks early and helping shape practical solutions
- Working closely with consultants to ensure design packages are delivered on time
- Supporting the Design Manager and collaborating with the Assistant Information Manager
- Contributing to improved design processes and helping strengthen the wider team
What We’re Looking For
- Strong design background, ideally with contractor or design-and-build experience
- Confident interpreting drawings and managing consultant outputs
- Good understanding of construction methods and infrastructure project delivery
- Degree qualified (preferred) or strong relevant experience
- Full UK driving licence
