Neway International are looking for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant (KS3/KS4) to join our client based with Wirral MBC.

Location: Joseph Paxton Campus

Hours: 36 per week (flexible)

Contract: ongoing | Start 11 May 2026

The Role:

Wirral Council’s Home and Continuing Education Service is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support KS3/KS4 pupils with medical needs preventing them from attending mainstream school. The service provides education on-site and in pupils’ homes, offering small-group and 1:1 learning tailored to individual needs. You’ll join a friendly, committed team delivering learning support and engagement work to help pupils remain connected to education during periods of ill health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for KS3/KS4 pupils.
  • Assist with learning activities both on-site and in pupils’ homes.
  • Support engagement, confidence, and participation in learning.
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of individual pupils.
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive environment within an Alternative Provision setting.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting pupils in KS3/KS4.
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and able to adapt to changing needs.
  • Enhanced DBS required.
  • Comfortable working across different settings, including home tuition.

About the Service:

Home and Continuing Education supports children with medical needs through personalised education pathways. The team is based at Joseph Paxton Campus in Claughton Village and works closely with families to ensure continuity of learning.
