Support young adults with learning opportunities to enable them to make the most of their potential whilst developing your own skills and experiences.
As a Bilingual Learning Support Assistant, you will be:
- Enabling and encouraging student integration within peer groups
- Building working relationships with subject tutors and helping with the development and preparation of learning materials, tasks, assignments, and assessments whilst recording learners’ progress
- Supporting learners during activities and reinforcing tutor instructions and providing constructive feedback to learners in relation to targets
- Attending relevant meetings with subject tutors and support teams
- Providing mobility assistance to students as and when required and accompanying students as and when required
- Any other duties reasonably requested by the Director or Manager
We are keen to speak to you if you have:
- Previous experience in a similar support-based role
- Relevant qualifications also in numeracy and literacy
- Ideally Welsh speaking
- Experience working with a diverse range of learners and staff including those whose behaviour at times may be challenging
- An ability to show empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by young people post 16
- Excellent IT, communication and inter-personal skills
- A current enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to complete one
This is a full-time temporary vacancy covering long term sickness absence working 9am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday (32.5 hours per week). You'll be starting from a pay rate of £12.66 per hour, plus accrued holiday pay.
