We are looking for a reliable, hardworking kitchen assistant/cook to join our team. Candidates must have previous work experience preparing and cooking food within a kitchen environment and be fully confident with the knowledge of food hygiene and food allergy regulations. We operate Monday to Saturday 9:30am until 6pm, so flexibility is very important. This is a permanent position worked over 3 to 4 days, which includes a Saturday. Additional hours available at busier times, to cover staff holidays/sickness and during school holiday time. Immediate start is available and desirable. Candidates must be 18+ to comply with insurance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The responsibility for the preparation and cooking of the Eden Centre menu.
- Opening & closing the kitchen by completing all necessary checks and paperwork.
- Ensuring that hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen is of the highest standard and in accordance with Environmental Health requirements and legislation.
- Previous cooking experience required.
- Food hygiene qualification Level 2 minimum – hygiene course can be renewed and paid for through the company.
- Food allergy and intolerance knowledge is essential.
- The candidate must be able to work on their own initiative and work well within a team and be confident of their ability within what can be a high‑pressured, fast‑paced environment.
