The post holder will provide efficient and professional administrative support to the Trauma Assessment Unit and Trauma Sisters.
Key responsibilities:
- Welcoming patients and relatives in a friendly, courteous manner, providing clear information and helping them orientate to the unit.
- Answering telephone enquiries, taking accurate messages, and responding appropriately while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Liaising with nurses, doctors, GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team to share information accurately and support high-quality patient care.
- Scanning and uploading patient documents to electronic records.
- Inputting data into the National Hip Fracture Database.
- Supporting the planning and scheduling of procedures within the unit.
- Arranging follow-up appointments, patient transport and interpreter bookings when required.
- Organising maintenance and repairs for ward equipment and facilities.
- Assisting with stock rotation and ordering supplies.
- Maintaining accurate patient details and appointments on the Millennium patient administration system, including cancelling and rebooking appointments as needed.
- Providing comprehensive clerical support to the multidisciplinary team.
- Working flexibly to support the smooth running of the department and ensure consistent service cover.
