Duties will mainly include covering the Ophthalmology reception desk and other administrative duties to support the department. This includes meeting and greeting patients, entering and updating patient information, including completing RTT outcome forms, and booking appointments on the hospital patient administration system (Cerner Millennium). At times, you may also be asked to prepare clinic notes, make and receive telephone calls, and monitor/upload emergency referrals in a timely manner.
This is a fast-paced role requiring excellent computer skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask while managing ever-changing priorities. A high level of flexibility is essential, as the post holder will be expected to adapt to the changing needs of the department at any time and support service delivery as required. A positive, flexible approach to workload and teamwork is key. Full training will be provided.
