We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Librarian and Reading Intervention Lead to join our team and play a key role in promoting reading, supporting learning, and nurturing curiosity in our pupils.
About the Role
- Manage the day‑to‑day running of the school library, ensuring it is organised, attractive and purposeful.
- Maintain and develop library stock, ensuring it is engaging, diverse and appropriate for our pupils.
- Promote reading for pleasure through displays, events and initiatives.
- Lead reading clubs and lunchtime sessions to engage pupils.
- Support children in selecting books and developing independence and confidence as readers.
- Work closely with teaching staff to support curriculum topics and whole‑school priorities.
- Create a calm, inclusive space where all children feel inspired and supported.
- Work with small groups of children and lead whole class library sessions.
- Support Pupil Premium children to encourage the love of reading and narrow the attainment gap.
