Your New Company A well-established education organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join their finance team on a short-term basis.
This organisation plays a vital role within its local community and is looking for a proactive finance professional to provide immediate support during a busy period.

Your New Role This is a fully on-site Finance Officer position on an initial 6-8 week temporary contract, requiring someone who can hit the ground running and support the smooth running of the finance function.
The role will have a strong focus on purchase ledger activities alongside wider transactional finance duties, including:
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and investigating discrepancies.
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving outstanding queries.
- Preparing supplier payment runs in line with agreed schedules.
- Maintaining supplier records and creditor accounts.
- Supporting month-end and year-end finance processes.
- Assisting with bank and control account reconciliations.
- Supporting financial reporting and management information preparation.
- Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding finance queries.
- Supporting audit requirements and maintaining strong financial controls.
What You Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience working within a finance function, particularly in purchase ledger or accounts payable.
Qualifications and Experience
- You will also possess: Previous experience processing invoices, reconciliations and supplier accounts.
- Experience working with computerised finance systems.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- The ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- AAT qualification or equivalent finance experience would be advantageous.
