Alternative Learning Support Mentor Bath £110.00 - £130 per day Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity Immediate Start Available Support Young People Who Need It Most We are currently recruiting Alternative Learning Support Mentors to work within specialist education settings across Bath, supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH), Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), behavioural challenges and additional learning needs.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and creating positive outcomes through trust, consistency and meaningful relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
  • Support pupils with SEMH and SEND.
  • Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Support engagement with education and learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams.
  • Encourage confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Use trauma‑informed and relationship‑based approaches to mentoring.
  • Provide consistent support for vulnerable and at‑risk students.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for compassionate, resilient and proactive individuals who genuinely want to make a positive impact in the lives of young people.

  • Experience working with children or vulnerable young people is highly desirable.
  • Suitable background may include youth work, behaviour support, teaching assistant experience, residential children’s homes, sports coaching, mental health support, support work, community mentoring.
