A vacancy at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are recruiting an Assistant Technical Officer (ATO) to join the Respiratory Physiology Team at Arrowe Park Hospital, Ward 37, Respiratory Lab.
The post holder will provide support within the Respiratory Diagnostics Service to deliver high quality diagnostic investigations. They will follow policies and procedures appropriate to the task and liaise with senior physiologists as required. They will adhere to ARTP standards when performing spirometry and complete certification and registration within 12 months of registration with the ARTP.
The post holder will work across sites: Arrowe Park Hospital, Clatterbridge Diagnostic Hub, and community clinics across Wirral. Suitable candidates should hold a full valid UK driving licence or be willing to commute via Trust or public transport.
With training and experience, they will provide all types of spirometry and FeNO assessments as part of the respiratory physiology team. Prepare and provide sleep monitors and overnight oximetry for patients. Assist physiologists with the delivery of the sleep service, e.g., gathering consumables required for the clinic. Report patient concerns identified during service delivery. Evaluate, interpret, and present all test results in accordance with departmental policy. Ensure prompt completion of duties via the hospital computer system to maintain comprehensive records of procedures. Provide general administrative support by assisting in the day‑to‑day planning and booking of clinics.
