Integrated Specialist Palliative Care CNS Fixed Term 12 months Maternity cover – 28.5 hours per week with weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota basis. Band 6 Development Post Considered. Possible Secondment Opportunity.

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Integrated Specialist Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver expert palliative and end‐of‐life care across acute, community and integrated settings, supporting patients with complex needs and their families.

As a Band 7 CNS, you will provide advanced clinical leadership, specialist assessment, care planning, and education, working collaboratively across organisational boundaries to ensure high‐quality, person‐centred care. We also welcome applications from experienced Band 6 nurses with a strong interest in palliative care who wish to develop into a Band 7 role. A structured development and supervision programme will be offered to support progression for suitable candidates.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced clinical leadership and specialist assessment in palliative and end‐of‐life care.
  • Develop, review and implement comprehensive care plans for individual patients.
  • Educate and support multidisciplinary team members and independent contractors on palliative care practices.
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement and educational programmes for primary care and private sectors (care homes).
  • Manage a caseload and evaluate the care given to continuously improve patient and carer outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Registered Nurse status with significant post‐registration experience.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in palliative and end‐of‐life care.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and multidisciplinary working skills.
  • Commitment to education, service development and quality improvement.
