We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established further education college in Manchester for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant starting September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting young people and adults with additional learning needs to achieve their full potential.
The Role
- As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support to students across a variety of courses.

- Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Moderate learning difficulties
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support in and out of the classroom.
- Assist with lesson delivery and adapt materials as required.
- Promote student engagement, independence, and confidence.
- Support behaviour management in a positive and proactive manner.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and support teams.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience supporting young people or adults with additional needs (education or care setting).
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
- Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning) desirable but not essential.
