Outpatients Receptionist – Band 2 37.5 hours – Permanent

Overview

The Outpatient reception rota is across 7 days. Staff are required to cover shifts between the hours of 7am to 8pm Monday to Sunday, including Bank holidays. The successful candidate must be able to support the flexibility of the rota.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide an efficient Reception service maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Receive, administrate, and direct patients and relatives to the appropriate area or service in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
  • Enter and extract information from various Trust Patient Administrative Systems.
  • Assist with preparing and managing patient medical records, including occasional physical effort.
  • Undertake a variety of administration duties to assist the smooth running of the service and reception area each day.

  • Computer literacy with experience using administrative systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills and friendly, caring attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a busy team and independently.
