This is a real chance to be a part of the CAMHS transformation long term plan which will improve the mental health outcome for children and young people.

We have opportunities for new full-time Band 6 CAMHS practitioner posts in Tameside and Glossop CAMHS. These posts are based within core CAMHS, and the duty and assessment team.

One of our priorities is supporting our team with their continued professional development. As such, we offer flexibility between the roles to ensure skills and knowledge are offered and expanded in many areas of our service.

CAMHS offers a wide range of mental health assessments and evidence-based interventions including family therapy, CBT, DBT interpersonal therapy, EMDR, and psychotherapy for children and young people aged 5 to 18 years. You will be encouraged to explore your therapeutic interest alongside providing a range of quality CAMHS assessments/interventions.

CAMHS also has close links with community services which work with children and young people to offer an early help and bespoke packages of care. There are plenty of opportunities to work in a true multi-agency way to help deliver a whole-system offer that communicates that all children and young people matter and that their emotional wellbeing and mental health needs are understood and supported with kindness, compassion and high-quality and safe care.

These posts will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions for adolescents and families using evidence-based interventions. You will be responsible for and manage a defined caseload and undertake case management responsibilities within the caseload. You will provide consultation, advice, and training to a wide range of agencies.

As a service we prioritise staff wellbeing and are active in ensuring that our team values are demonstrated in practice and are a vital part of our working culture. Working hours are generally Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, though there is plenty of opportunity to work flexibly as we are looking to expand our opening hours as part of our service transformation plans and work around your unique needs as an employee.

We are always interested in hearing new ideas and creative ways of working to meet the needs of our service users and support quality improvements, therefore your voice does matter and will be included in key service developments. The roles available are extremely varied and as a service we are interested in playing to your clinical strengths and developing your clinical interests and skills.

You will receive ongoing support through regular monthly clinical supervision and separate line management support. You will also be actively encouraged to be part of peer supervision and will have the opportunity in your job plan to attend specialist treatment modality consultations.
