About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Business Officer to join our Trust central team and lead our HR function, supporting strong and positive people management across all Trust schools. This is an exciting time to join us, as our continued growth means we are expanding our HR department to support the next phase of the Trust's development.
You will provide strategic HR guidance across the Trust, ensuring leaders receive high quality advice aligned with employment legislation, sector expectations and Trust policies. In this senior role, you will oversee HR operations, lead and develop the HR team, and provide high quality HR advice to senior leaders, shaping the delivery and continuous improvement of our Trust-wide HR service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the HR Operations Manager and HR administrative support
- Oversee recruitment, safer recruitment, induction and HR processes
- Lead HRIS and workforce data management
- Provide senior HR advice to Headteachers, leaders and the Executive Team
- Lead complex ER casework and organisational change (e.g., TUPE, restructures)
- Drive improvements in HR policies, HR systems, reporting and HR culture
- Support wellbeing, inclusion and staff engagement across the Trust
About You
- CIPD Level 5+ (Level 7 desirable)
- Strong HR advisory/management experience
- Confident leading complex ER casework
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Strong knowledge of employment law, safer recruitment and GDPR
- Positive, solutions focused and aligned with Trust values

This role is permanent at 36 hours per week term time plus 4 weeks, with an actual pro rata part-time salary of £52,568 - £56,669, TMBC Grade K.
