The Role

As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support to students across a variety of courses. You will assist learners with diverse needs, which may include:

  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Moderate learning difficulties

Your Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support in and out of the classroom
  • Assisting with lesson delivery and adapting materials where required
  • Promoting student engagement, independence, and confidence
  • Supporting with behaviour management in a positive and proactive manner
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience supporting young people or adults with additional needs (education or care setting)
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning) are desirable but not essential
