Qualifications and Experience
- 1st Level nurse with 1 year post registration and Community Nursing experience.
- Evidence of 120 credits at a minimum of level 5 or study at level 6/7 and a broad understanding of Community Nursing.
- Demonstrable knowledge of leadership and the role of a Community Specialist Practitioner.
- Commitment to study at level 7 and knowledge of current issues within the NHS, Community Nursing, and their potential influence on District Nursing.
Role and Responsibilities
- Complete the District Nurse PGDip Apprenticeship programme through education and work-based learning successfully.
- Meet all gateway requirements, undertake the end assessment EPA.
- Work in an allocated District Nursing team conducive to learning that meets core skills, knowledge, and behaviour relevant to the programme specialism.
- Work alongside a Practice Supervisor (Band 6 CSP) responsible for a designated caseload of patients within the neighbourhood.
- Confirm student achievement of proficiencies and programme outcomes for practice learning.
- Work in partnership with the nominated academic assessor to evaluate and recommend the student for progression for each part of the programme.
