This year, we’re excited to offer a new role within our Head Office team in Stoke-on-Trent. As an Apprentice Bid Writer, you will join our Work Winning function, focused on ensuring our operational teams have a strong pipeline of work. Bidding and tendering is paramount to the success of our business growth and expansion plans.

About the Programme

You will begin by working towards a Level 3 Bids & Proposals qualification over a 24‑month programme, supported by paid day release at college. During the programme, you will learn the importance of compiling customer‑focused bids and tender proposals to win new business. You will support the full end‑to‑end proposal process, from registering interest and coordinating activities through to developing detailed responses to pre‑qualification questionnaires (PQQs), bid submissions and tender documentation. This will lead to an APMP Bid Writing qualification, supported by Novus after you complete your apprenticeship. This provides a clear progression route and the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and skills as a trained professional within the bid writing sector.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Organisation and planning – Learn how managing several activities simultaneously impacts workloads across the function.
  • Writing and editorial – Develop strong proofreading skills, with an eye for detail, and build confidence in writing to help compile proposal documents and maintain bid libraries.
  • Stakeholder management – Build relationships with cross‑functional teams and colleagues, including participating in meetings.
  • Teamwork – Work closely with experienced colleagues across Business Services, gaining practical knowledge in a collaborative team environment.
  • Technology – Learn how to use our systems and technology tools to enhance team output and support bid and tender success rates.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to learn and develop their career, and who want to understand how our support teams help drive the success of Novus Property Solutions. Ideally, you will have:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4‑9 / A*‑C), A Levels or a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent), and basic IT skills (including Microsoft Excel).
  • Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Be keen to learn and develop new skills
  • Have good communication and teamwork abilities

Please note: This apprenticeship may not be suitable for candidates who already hold or are studying towards a Level 3 qualification in Bids & Proposals (or a closely related subject).
