Role Overview
As the Shop Supervisor you will lead a large volunteer team, drive sales and ensure a high standard of customer service and merchandising in the Sue Ryder Altrincham shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Help drive business, push sales and achieve targets.
- Lead a team to deliver great customer service to donors and customers.
- Work with the local community to generate sufficient donated stock to drive sales.
- Recruit, train and retain a volunteer team, providing leadership and guidance.
- Set high standards of merchandising and housekeeping, ensuring health & safety priorities.
- Manage effective stock processes to keep the shop well merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Sue Ryder, supporting in-store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.
- Operate the EPOS system for stock and sales processes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Retail experience with excellent customer service skills.
- Previous supervisory experience and proven team leadership.
- Experience in cash handling/till operations.
- Basic IT skills (emails, instant messaging, video calls).
- Organisational skills.
- High street retail or leisure/hospitality background.
- KPI and target‑driven experience.
- Health & Safety knowledge.
- Team player, key holder/opening/closing responsibilities.
- Ability to work with volunteers and engage the local community.
- Knowledge of merchandising and stock rotation is desirable.
