About the role

HGV Class 1 Driver – Night shifts across Midlands and UK‑wide routes, including general haulage, palletised deliveries/collections, RDC, trunking and curtain‑side operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct load security checks and internal load stepping.
  • Perform vehicle safety checks.
  • Ensure deliveries are completed safely and professionally.
  • Start nights as scheduled throughout the week.
  • Work within Drivers’ Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive (WTD) requirements.

Qualifications

  • Valid UK HGV Class 1 (CE) licence.
  • Valid Driver CPC qualification card.
  • Digital tachograph card.
  • Good understanding of driver compliance and load security.
  • Professional and reliable attitude.
  • Previous Class 1 general haulage experience preferred.
  • Maximum 6 penalty points accepted.
  • No DD, DR, CU, MS or TT endorsements.
  • UK resident; PAYE direct employment only; no umbrella companies.
