What you’ll do:
- Welding our Unistrut range using Mig welders
- Set up welding and supporting equipment
- Be able to read 2D drawings
- Produce parts at the correct rate and report any issues with achieving that rate
- Take responsibility for the quality of the parts produced
- Keep production and quality–related records up to date
- Ensure good levels of 5S are maintained in the area
- Be involved in continuous improvement processes, driving improvements in all aspects of the role
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you bring:
- Good knowledge of production Mig welding
- Ability to weld various metals including mild steel and pre‑galvanised
- Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual
- Motivation to beat targets safely and meet required quality standards
- Ability to comply with and promote Atkore’s ATIRE and SQDC values
What you will strive to accomplish:
- S – Zero Harm to yourself or your colleagues
- Q – Zero defective raw materials accepted into the premises
- D – All offloading of raw materials achieved in a timely manner
- C – Zero downtime for machines allocated to material waiting time
Hours of work: 39 hours per week, working a rotating shift pattern:
- Week 1: Monday – Thursday 6am – 2pm & Friday 6am – 1pm
- Week 2: Monday – Thursday 2pm – 10pm & Friday 1pm – 8pm
Salary: £13.25 per hour plus 22% shift allowance for rotating shifts.
