An opportunity has arisen for an Agricultural Sustainability Manager to join a leading agricultural business committed to driving innovation and sustainable farming practices. This key role focuses on developing and delivering sustainability initiatives across agricultural supply chains, working closely with producers, customers and internal stakeholders to improve environmental performance while supporting commercial objectives. The successful candidate will play an important role in shaping sustainability strategy, supporting carbon reduction programmes and developing practical, data‑led solutions that help drive positive change across the agricultural sector. The role offers exposure to a wide range of environmental projects, including greenhouse gas reduction, natural capital, biodiversity and sustainable food production initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of sustainability strategies across agricultural supply chains
  • Work with producers and stakeholders to improve environmental performance and promote sustainable farming practices
  • Assist in the development of greenhouse gas reduction programmes and carbon mitigation strategies
  • Support natural capital, biodiversity and environmental improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to sustainability reporting and customer engagement activities
  • Analyse sustainability data and support the development of data‑led environmental models
  • Manage and coordinate sustainability‑related projects across multiple teams
  • Support research and development activities focused on agricultural sustainability
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, producers, customers and external partners
  • Monitor emerging sustainability trends, legislation and industry developments

The Candidate

  • Degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Management or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • At least two years’ experience within agriculture, environmental management, sustainability or agricultural supply chains
  • Strong understanding of sustainability challenges and opportunities within modern farming systems
  • Knowledge of greenhouse gas emissions, carbon accounting and carbon reduction strategies
  • Understanding of nutrient management, biodiversity, natural capital and environmental stewardship
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across the supply chain
  • Strong analytical, reporting and project management capabilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and manage competing priorities
  • Experience with sustainability data analysis, environmental modelling or agricultural research projects would be advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required
