We are looking for a motivated and reliable Estates Assistant who is passionate about providing safe, clean, and welcoming environments for our tenants. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on position combining estate maintenance and night concierge duties.

Hours: 35 hours, Full-time, permanent (night shifts including weekends & bank holidays)

Location: Carmarthen

Salary: £25,704 annual salary

Requirement: Full UK driving licence essential. We do not offer sponsorship.

About the role

As an Estates Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our schemes are safe, clean, and welcoming places to live. This hands-on position involves a mix of grounds maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining landscaped areas using tools and equipment
  • Acting as Night Concierge, ensuring tenant safety and security overnight
  • Cleaning communal areas such as halls, stairways, and landings
  • Carrying out minor repairs and handyman tasks
  • Completing health & safety checks, including fire alarm testing
  • Reporting repairs and monitoring contractor work
  • Supporting tenants by maintaining a high-quality living environment

This role requires flexibility, teamwork, and a proactive approach.

About you

To succeed as an Estates Assistant, you will be practical, reliable, and committed to delivering excellent service. You will have:

  • Experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, or cleaning
  • Knowledge of health & safety and cleaning practices
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work night shifts flexibly
  • A caring, calm approach in emergency situations
  • A positive, can-do attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A full UK driving licence

We welcome previous experience working as a caretaker, cleaner, maintenance operative, grounds worker, handyman, or facilities assistant, as these roles provide transferable skills for an Estates Assistant.
