Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to all enquiries ensuring a high standard of work.
- Carry out general maintenance repair work and follow planned preventative maintenance programmes.
- Maintain good relationships with service users, staff members and contractors.
- Follow COSHH regulations, especially the storage and handling of hazardous substances.
- Ensure the appropriate PPE is worn during all repairs.
- Attend additional training suitable to the role.
Qualifications and Experience
- Committed to delivering a high level of service.
- Flexible to respond to a range of different work situations.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Full driving licence and willingness to drive company vehicles.
- Previous general maintenance experience is essential.
- Qualification in at least one of the following areas: carpentry and joinery, plastering, decorating, building, plumbing and heating.
- Enhanced DBS disclosure (required due to working with vulnerable adults).
Job Details
- Hours of work: 42 hours per week, mainly Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work for emergencies.
- Regular travel across South Birmingham required.
