Care Support Scotland is seeking committed, values‑driven individuals to join our Board of Trustees. This is an exciting time to join the organisation. Following a comprehensive transformation programme – including a full rebrand and significant organisational investment – we are now focused on moving the quality of our care from good to great and strengthening our long‑term sustainability.
As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping our strategic direction, upholding strong governance and constructively supporting and challenging our Senior Leadership Team.
About Care Support Scotland:
Care Support Scotland has supported communities for over 35 years. We deliver high‑quality services across learning disability and neurodiversity, mental health, older people’s services, homelessness and housing support. We employ around 300 staff, operate across Edinburgh, Midlothian, East Lothian and West Lothian, and have a forecast turnover approaching £10m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and uphold high standards of governance
- Ensure compliance with statutory, legal and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to the development and oversight of organisational strategy
- Monitor performance, risk and organisational sustainability
- Build positive and constructive relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders
Time Commitment:
- One Board meeting per month (evenings, in person or online)
- Approximate commitment of 2–5 hours per month
- Initial four‑year term, with the possibility of extension
