Care South is a leading not-for-profit charity offering a community-based Home Care Assistant role in Somerset Care at Home. The role supports clients with a variety of needs in their own homes across Somerset.
Location: Chard, Ilminster and surrounding areas.
Hours & Shift Pattern: Part‑time hours – Weekends only. Shift pattern: 07:00‑14:00 and/or 16:00‑22:00.
Pay & Travel: £13.50 per hour plus travel time and petrol expenses. Mileage allowance of 40p per mile paid fortnightly.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver person‑centred care that truly makes a difference.
- Provide high‑quality support to enable individuals to remain independent.
- Support clients to build confidence and remain independent.
- Ensure the dignity of clients and manage their daily needs.
- Assist with personal care tasks such as personal hygiene, toileting and dressing.
- Complete reporting and maintain accurate documentation.
- Work independently and as part of a friendly, experienced team.
- Adhere to Care South's values and quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in a care setting desirable but not required.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Flexible to work every other weekend.
- Strong attention to detail and reporting skills.
- Capable of working independently and within a team.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or prepared to undertake one.
Other Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Visa sponsorship not offered.
